Training

Jannawi provides community education and training for the general and professional communities to raise awareness and enhance their knowledge, skills and ability to respond to children and families who have experienced violence, abuse and neglect.

The practice model of the Family Program relating to child protection intervention informs all courses and workshops.

Some training topics include:

  • Zooming Out- Child protection intervention in the context of domestic violence
  • Living in a War Zone- children’s experiences of trauma
  • They’re too little to be hurt- Child development and child protection
  • How children understand domestic violence
  • To Mesh and To Mould- Culture and Child protection

Training can also be developed to meet service/professional needs and can be offered as one or two day training.

Jannawi also believes that it is important to share skills and knowledge with the community to assist in preventing abuse and neglect. Some topics include parent workshops in English and Arabic, child abuse information sessions, domestic violence and child protection intervention sessions. These are presented as hourly or half day seminars.
