Family Centre is a specialist non-government tertiary child protection service located in Lakemba, a South West suburb of Sydney. It is located in the Local Government Area of Canterbury, and is funded for two programs-
The Family Program- specialist child protection program working with children at risk of harm of abuse and neglect aged 0-9 years and their families living in the local area. Funded by the Department of Community Services Grants Program (CSGP)
AND
Community Connections- a bilingual community program working to support vulnerable families with children aged 0-8 years living in the three suburbs of Wiley Park, Lakemba and Punchbowl. Funded by the Department of Community Services Families
NSW Initiative.
Jannawi is a Dharug Aboriginal word which means “with me”
Our Patron
Noni Hazelhurst, actor and television presenter has been the patron of Jannawi since its official opening in February, 1992.
Noni’s commitment to children is represented by her various activities and roles as patron. She hosted Jannawi’s 10th Anniversary Gala Comedy Night Dinner in February, 2002, and has undertaken numerous roles including AGM guest speaker.
Her genuine warmth and interest in the children and parents is valued and welcomed by everyone at Jannawi.
